The UK retirement landscape is entering a period of profound change 10:20 - 11:20 Read more

The Pensions Schemes Bill, the expansion of guided retirement pathways, the FCA’s evolving expectations under targeted support, and the emergence of collective defined contribution (CDC) arrangements are reshaping what ‘good’ looks like for customers at and through retirement. These developments pose fundamental questions for life insurers who today hold a substantial share of UK pension savings and provide a wide range of in retirement solutions.

This session brings together experts from industry, government and regulation to explore how these reforms could influence product design, customer journeys and long term risk management within the life sector.

Discussion will consider whether existing and emerging products can meet the needs envisaged by policymakers, where genuinely new solutions may be required, and how firms can navigate uncertainty while continuing to deliver good outcomes.

A forward looking debate at the intersection of policy, regulation and product innovation.

Stayin’ alive in change governance: The choreography of trust, structure and delivery 12:20 - 13:00 Read more

Governance meetings are where change either gains momentum or quietly starts to fail – often not because of poor intent, but because the choreography between governance and delivery was never agreed. In this session, Hana Drake explores change governance as a performance, not just a decision forum, focusing on what actually happens in large programme calls: status theatre, surprise escalations, how trust is built (or broken) under pressure, and why structure protects people rather than controls them.

Drawing on real delivery experience from hybrid finance and integration programmes, the session brings practical tools to life – including project heatmaps, end to end dashboards, stakeholder plans, and early blocker identification – through the lens of rhythm, lead and follow, and footwork.

Attendees will leave with a clearer way to prepare stakeholders, shape content, and run accountable change governance that surfaces risk without throwing teams under the bus, using simple, repeatable artefacts that help delivery stay upright as change transitions into BAU.

Speaker: Hana Drake, 4Most

He will consider the direct and indirect implications of widespread adoption of GLP-1 medicines on health and mortality trends. And he will explain how the CMI model has been adapted in light of recent experience, with the latest versions (CMI_2024 and CMI_2025) following the biggest review of the model in a decade.
